Poland 14, Barberton 2, 6 innings

BARBERTON

Kristyn Svetlak and Amanda Wire combined to toss a six-inning, four-hitter. Kat Wilson and Harley Kish each had three hits and three RBIs. Wire, Audrey Schweers, Megan Marsico and Sarah Boccieri each had two hits.

Garfield 7, Mineral Ridge 2

GARRETTSVILLE

Makenzie Click got the win for Garfield with eight strikeouts while Lizzy Perkins had two hits and a run scored. Kim Schilling was saddled with the loss, striking out nine in the process. Schilling, Macey Garland and Katlin Christy each had two hits for Mineral Ridge.

Canfield 13, Howland 1, 6 innings

HOWLAND

The Cardinals were up 9-0 after two innings. Kalin Kovach went 3 for 3 with two RBIs and a run scored. Jill Baker went 2 for 3 with a walk, an RBI and a run scored as well. Bridget Durkin pitched all five innings, striking out two batters and allowing only four hits.

Crestview 8, McDonald 6

MCDONALD

Autumn Lindsay had a double and a run while Mackenzie Daub had two hits and two RBIs to help lead Crestview to a victory. Kerrigan McDermott had a double and two runs and Cheyenne Titus had two hits and two runs for the Blue Devils (8-2-1).

West Branch 14, Minerva 1

MINERVA

Grace Heath led West Branch with three RBIs and two hits and Bailey Byers had two hits and two RBIs. Kelsey Byers was the winning pitcher with four strikeouts. Lauren Frigyes took the loss, giving up six walks and ten hits and striking out three. Paige Morgan led Minerva with one hit and a double.

Jefferson 11, Fitch 1

AUSTINTOWN

Sam Hamski had a home run, a single and two RBIs for Jefferson (11-0). Kaycee Fusco also contributed a home run and two RBIs and Irons was the winning pitcher. McKenzie Luknis and Kayla Kelty both had singles for Fitch (4-8) while Franken took the loss.

Brookfield 19, Niles 3

BROOKFIELD

Gabby Schiska was the winning pitcher with eight strikeouts and five hits. KenYana Ashley, Bailey Drapola, Sheridan Rotunno and Schiska all had two or more hits for Brookfield. Kenzie Drapola, Bailey Drapola and Alisha Quinlin each contributed a double and Schiska hit a triple and had six RBIs. Bailey Drapola had a two-run homer and three RBIs. Michaela Gauding had two RBIs.

Valley Christian 16, East 5

YOUNGSTOWN

Iliana Suarez hit a double and a triple and contributed three RBIs for Valley Christian. Michelle Limbeck picked up her third victory and had eight strikeouts.

Louisville 11, Salem 0

SALEM

Sarah Cantley pitched a one-hit shutout for the win while striking out eight. Grace Jackson homered and doubled, and Emily Cantley, Payton Mckeever and Kaycee Ollis had two hits each. Clara Janofa pitched for Salem and had three strikeouts, as well as winning Salem’s only hit.

Springfield 7, Campbell 5

CAMPBELL

Jacqueline Kish pitched her first high school victory, allowing seven hits and striking out 10. Kish also hit a single, a double, and drove in two RBIs for Springfield (7-4). Brianna Yemma tacked on a single and drove in one run and Madison Mullen scored twice for the Tigers. Nomiki Tsagaris led Campbell with a single, a homer, and one RBI while Christina Austalosh hit a double and drove in one run. Hannah Michaels took the loss for the Red Devils.

Champion 8, Struthers 1

CHAMPION

McKenzie Zigmont picked up the win for Champion with 11 strikeouts, and she tacked on two RBIs and a double. Abby White also contributed four hits and two RBIs for the Golden Flashes. Vukovich walked four batters and struck out one, getting the loss for Struthers. Khaylah Brown hit a triple to lead the Wildcats.

BASEBALL

Howland 13, Conneaut 0, 5 innings

CONNEAUT

A seven-run third inning helped propel the Tigers to an easy win. Keith Rounds went 3 for 3 with an RBI and a run scored for Howland, who scored at least one run in every inning. Zach Campbell went 2 for 3 with two RBIs and a run scored. Josh Shiver pitched all five innings giving up two hits, striking out seven and walking one batter.

Campbell 9, Jefferson 6

JEFFERSON

Winning pitcher Laz Lebron struck out six and walked two in tossing a six-hitter. Yianni Koullias contributed two hits, scored a run and drove in one. Mike Jones and Lebron each scored two runs.

Mathews 15, Mineral Ridge 5

MINERAL RIDGE

Bryan Leipply, Bryan Oatridge and Dan Carter combined for eight hits and five RBIs in a blowout win for Mathews (11-1, 8-1). Dan Canter and Bryan Oatridge each had three hits for Mathews. The Rams racked up 17 hits, but had trouble getting runners around to score.

South Range 19, Columbiana 1, 5 innings

BEAVER TOWNSHIP

The Raiders scored eight in the first inning and scored at least three runs every other inning. Travis Baxter had four hits including a double and Jared Bajerski had five RBIs on two hits, including a double. Nick Deal pitched five innings, striking out four and walking none in the win.

Jackson-Milton 7, Leetonia 0

NORTH JACKSON

Zak Lane pitched a complete game, striking out eight Bears, walking one and went 2 for 3 with an RBI at the plate. Justin Rentz went 2 for 3 with a double for the Bluejays (9-2, 6-0 ITCL Blue). Connor Melinger went 2 for 3 with a double for Leetonia.

Hubbard 7, Lakeview 0

LAKEVIEW

Tim Herberger led the Eagles with two RBIs and went 3 for 4 on the night. Colin Shinosky got the win for Hubbard with two walks and four strikeouts. Brenden Jones and Dan Brammer went 2 for 3 for Lakeview and Matt Horvat took the loss.

Niles 14, Brookfield 1

BROOKFIELD

The Red Dragons’ Cameron Carson pitched six innings and allowed just four hits for the victory. Geno Barricella, Jaret Johnson and Tyler Srbinovich each had two hits. Srbinovich scored two runs, as did Corbin Foy, Tre Martin and Cameron Carson. Foy and Srbinovich each added two RBIs. Filipovich had two hits for Brookfield and Ellcessor had the team’s only run.

Crestview 12, McDonald 1

MCDONALD

Andy Gorby pitched a complete game for Crestview (12-1) and recorded nine strikeouts. Kaden Davis had three RBI and Jeff Feo added two. Crestview travels to Lisbon today and Boardman on Saturday.

Lisbon 12, Lowellville 4

LOWELLVILLE

Colin Sweeney’s four hits included a double and he drove in two runs for the Blue Devils. Cam Summers had three hits and scored three times while Avery Andric, David Toot and Marcus Nenichka each had two hits. Winning pitcher Logan Bell tossed a five-hitter. For the Rockets, Nate Solak and J. Milco each had two hits.

Champion 9, Newton Falls 3

NEWTON FALLS

Lucas Nasonti and Jake Walters each had three hits in the Golden Flashes’ win. Michael Turner homered for Champion. Drake Batcho picked up the win, striking out six and walking two. Noah Suarez had two hits for Newton Falls.
