The Boardman library hosted a canvas art craft night on March 21.

Boardman library supplied the objects needed to create the canvas art. There was canvas, different colored and designed scrapbook papers, and Mod Podge to piece it together.

Selena Phillips, a Boardman librarian, helped the guests with whatever questions they had about the project. Phillips also had a table set out for snacks and drinks for the people who attended.

“I’ve given them some templates, but if they have some other ideas that’s fine. We’re just making canvas art,” said Phillips.

Some people came with their friends, their family or by themselves. Every person got their own canvas and could pick out a template to use. The different types of scrapbook paper allowed each person make their canvas art original. There were people who made flowers, cut out letters to form their names and several other designs were put on the canvas.

Given the good turnout of the event, the library is looking to host another canvas art event in the future.
