The Poland library taught a class on No Knead Bread Making on March 24.

Missy Williams, a librarian at the Poland library, taught those who signed up how to make dough that requires only a few ingredients and no kneading. The guests were supplied with the ingredients and a spoon and bowl if they didn’t bring their own.

“I make this bread all the time, I’ve been making bread for probably 20 years now,” said Williams.

Williams started the class off by explaining what the ingredients were and how everything was going to come together before she demonstrated the steps hands-on. People watched Williams as she mixed everything together before they started.

This way Williams was able to walk around and help anyone with any questions they may have had while making the dough.

The class started by mixing their dry ingredients together and then Williams came around to pour the water into the bowl.

After all of the ingredients were mixed together, plastic wrap was placed over the bowl and the guests were free to take home their dough and wait for it to rise so they could baked it. Each bowl of dough would make between two and four loafs, depending how big people made them.

There will be another baking class in May, dealing with how to decorate cupcakes.
