UPDATE | Lawyer issues statement on Dellick arrest
YOUNGSTOWN — The son of Judge Theresa Dellick of Mahoning County Juvenile Court is in the county jail.
Records show John Dellick, 21, was booked into the jail, sometime today by the Adult Parole Authority.
Court records show Dellick was just released from house arrest March 30, which he served after a probation violation in January for an aggravated-assault conviction in 2014.
His attorney, David Betras, said in a statement today, “I acknowledge that on April 20, John Dellick was cited by the Mill Creek Park police for littering and possession of marijuana. Both of these charges are minor misdemeanors. The maximum punishment for these offenses are $150 fines.
“I am looking into the incident and will have further comment at the appropriate time. John saw his probation officer today and was arrested for possible violation of his probation. I am focused on helping John deal with this situation and his ongoing medical condition. John and I are of course cooperating with law-enforcement officials.”
Betras added a probable-cause hearing has been set at 2:30 p.m. Monday on the potential probation violation. Betras said he plans on entering a not-guilty plea to the minor-misdemeanor charges.
