POLICE CALLS

A summary of recent criminal activity in Poland and Boardman townships:

POLAND

April 11

Breaking and entering: Someone broke into Sami Quick Stop, 3067 Center Road, damaged an alarm panel and other property and stole merchandise that included money, a computer tower and cigarettes.

April 15

Theft/menacing: A Renwick Drive woman reported her $900 iPhone stolen and that she had been threatened.

April 16

Identity fraud: A Cobblers Run Drive man found out his personal information had been compromised, resulting in a $5,200 loss.

Criminal damaging: A Coblentz Drive man discovered two doors to his residence had been damaged. The total damage was $450.

BOARDMAN

April 12

Arrest: Police responded to a Lemans Drive apartment regarding a possible theft before taking into custody Sardor S. Alimukhamedov, 26, of Lemans, Boardman. He was wanted on a warrant charging failure to appear in court.

Aggravated menacing: Anthony J. Morton II of Mathews Road, Boardman, surrendered on a township warrant charging him with two counts of aggravated menacing after a March 1 incident in which a neighbor alleged Morton, 31, had threatened him and his brother during an argument related to a parking space in a carport.

Theft by deception: Authorities arrested Joanna M. Button, 29, of Boardman at her Stratmore Avenue residence on a felony theft-by-deception charge related to an Aug. 28, 2015, situation in which an elderly township woman learned that someone without authorization had opened a home-equity line of credit in her name. The victim also found more than $3,000 worth of fraudulent charges, a report showed.

Arrest: While answering a fight call in the 6000 block of Applecrest Court, authorities charged India S. Ingram, 21, with resisting arrest and obstructing official business. Ingram, of Church Hill Road, Liberty, became combative with police, refused to hand them her car key for a probable-cause search and briefly struggled with officers, a report said. She also was handed a minor-misdemeanor citation alleging she had a small amount of suspected marijuana in her vehicle.

Theft: Rhonda A. Jones, 51, of Winchester Drive, Youngstown, was charged with stealing 98 candy bars from Marc’s, 7121 Tiffany Blvd.

Arrest: A vehicle check on Youngstown-Poland Road resulted in the arrest of Amanda E. Turek, 23, of Bryson Street, Youngstown, who was wanted on a city warrant accusing her of failing to appear in court.

April 13

Felonious assault: Officers answered a call about a man who possibly had been hit by a vehicle during a domestic situation on Irma Avenue before charging 26-year-old Amber M. Tanner of Cook Avenue, Boardman, with felonious assault and domestic violence. Tanner’s husband alleged that during an argument about their son, she had accelerated toward him at about 10 mph in an effort to run him over and, in so doing, struck his right hip, thigh and hand with her front bumper.

Possible theft: A Lemans Drive man reported his passport lost or stolen.

Theft: Authorities phone booked Kevin T. Cherry Jr., 32, on three misdemeanor theft counts. The Akron man was accused in two 2015 shoplifting situations in which a $400 video-security system was stolen from Sam’s Club, 6361 South Ave., and two bottles of champagne were taken from Giant Eagle, 476 Boardman-Canfield Road, as well as in another case.

Theft: A man in his 30s reportedly stole seven boxes of a hair-regrowth product valued at $366 from CVS Pharmacy, 7230 Market St.

Menacing: A manager with an East Midlothian Boulevard discount store told officers a customer called her derogatory names after having been angered the business was out of spray paint.

Theft: William J. Bush, 58, of East Judson Avenue, Youngstown, was charged in the theft of two wristwatches, two cans of paint and two spark plugs from Walmart, 1300 Doral Drive.

April 14

Assault: A township boy, 13, faced a simple-assault charge after an investigation revealed that a sixth-grade student had been assaulted on a school bus.

Recovered property: A 1969 Lincoln vehicle a Youngstown man had reported stolen was found in the 100 block of Meadowbrook Avenue.

Breaking and entering: After pulling him over near South Avenue, police took Corey P.J. Miller, 23, of East Park Avenue, Columbiana, into custody on charges of breaking and entering, tampering with a coin machine and receiving stolen property. Miller was accused of breaking into Maytag Laundromat, 5048 Youngstown-Poland Road, and removing an undisclosed sum of money from a safe.

Harassment: A Tara Drive man said a caller referred to his wife in a derogatory manner and threatened his children.

Theft: David C. Jones, 32, was charged after police alleged the Aliquippa, Pa., man had stolen about $414 worth of merchandise from Walmart.

Theft: Sean C. Wilford, 27, of South Euclid, Ohio, was charged with taking $35 worth of items from Walmart.

Criminal damaging: Someone tossed eggs at a home in the 7900 block of Spartan Drive, causing an estimated $200 in damage to the roof and shingles.

Felonious assault: During a traffic stop near Southern Boulevard, authorities took into custody Latara C. Barnett, 28, of Erie Street, Boardman, on charges of felonious assault and domestic violence after a township officer reported finding her boyfriend at St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital after he had reportedly been stabbed during an argument that apparently started when she placed in a bag some of his belongings.

Misuse of a credit card: An Austintown woman found out her stolen debit card had been used without authorization at two Southern Park Mall stores, resulting in more than $300 worth of fraudulent charges.

Harassment: A hair stylist with a Market Street salon said she received such a call.

Menacing: A worker for a business in the 5900 block of South Avenue told authorities a former employee whom the owner had terminated made unwanted calls to the business, including a threat to harm her.

April 15

Menacing: A Canfield woman told police her former husband had been stalking her while she was at her boyfriend’s Devonshire Drive home. She also found a handwritten note in her car, she further reported.

Theft: Two women reportedly stole $246 worth of sweatpants and tank tops from Victoria’s Secret in Southern Park Mall.

Domestic violence: Joseph M. Bokros, 54, of Lealand Avenue, Boardman, faced a felony domestic-violence charge after his son alleged Bokros had grabbed his neck and struggled with him after the accuser attempted to intervene when Bokros reportedly had tried to push another family member.

Theft: A Glenpool, Okla., woman noticed a wallet missing from her purse while at a business in the 8100 block of Market Street.

Assault: A Youngstown woman alleged a friend pushed her down a stairway during an argument, causing the victim to fall on top of and injure her son’s foot.

Theft/drugs: Kevin S. Rowe, 32, of Jacobs Road, Youngstown, was charged with theft as well as possession of drug-abuse instruments and drug paraphernalia after $94 worth of property was stolen from Walmart. In addition, a suspected crack-cocaine pipe and a hypodermic syringe were found, a report stated.

Theft: A 17-year-old Ellwood City, Pa., boy was accused of stealing a $20 phone charger from Walmart.

Identity theft: An Aylesboro Avenue woman discovered on her credit card five fraudulent charges that originated in the Dayton areas and came to about $522.

April 16

Harassment: A West Boulevard woman said a man has made and sent her a series of such calls and text messages.

Theft: A customer reportedly took a $1,800 fender electric guitar from Guitar Center, 7380 Market St.

Menacing/criminal damaging: A Terrace Drive man alleged a neighbor has been continually harassing him and his wife. Also, the man discovered his front windshield had been damaged.

April 17

Aggravated menacing: A Locust Avenue woman alleged an acquaintance had sent her threatening text messages, including one stating she would be struck in the lead with a lead pipe.

Assault: A 14-year-old township boy alleged an employee with a recreation business in the 8200 block of South Avenue grabbed his right arm and tossed him around after claiming the accuser had repeatedly violated certain rules.

Vandalism: The owner of Days Inn, 7393 South Ave., told police of finding several burned areas on carpeting in a room where candles had been. Damage was estimated at $1,000.

Criminal damaging: A Walker Mill Road man noticed a bullet had damaged his car’s passenger-side roof panel.

Stolen property: While responding to a complaint about someone trying to sell stolen goods at a Boardman-Poland Road children’s store, officers filed misdemeanor charges of receiving stolen property against Cheryle R. O’Neal, 23, of Plazaview Court, Youngstown, and 26-year-old Earl S. Marlowe of Maplewood Avenue, Struthers. Earlier, a woman had reported a children’s bicycle, toy and basketball hoop stolen from her Youngstown residence.
