JERUSALEM

A bus exploded in Jerusalem on Monday, wounding at least 21 people in what police said was a “terror attack,” raising fears of a return to the Palestinian suicide bombings that ravaged Israeli cities a decade ago.

Police spokesman Micky Rosenfeld said 21 people were wounded in the attack, two seriously, seven moderately and the rest lightly. Another bus and a car nearby were also damaged by the explosion.

Colo. pot report: Adult use is up

DENVER

Colorado kids are not smoking more pot since the drug became legal – but their older siblings and parents certainly are, according to a long-awaited report giving the most-comprehensive data yet on the effects of the state’s 2012 recreational-marijuana law.

The state released a report Monday detailing changes in everything from pot arrests to tax collections to calls to Poison Control. Surveys given to middle-schoolers and high-schoolers indicate that youth marijuana use didn’t rise significantly in the years after the 2012 vote.

Though use of the drug did not increase significantly among children, it did jump among adults.

Relying on data from the national drug-use survey, Colorado reported that nearly a third of Coloradans 18 to 25 in 2014 had used pot in the past 30 days, a rise of about 5 percent from the year before recreational pot was legalized.

Leader won’t quit after impeachment vote by lawmakers

BRASILIA, Brazil

President Dilma Rousseff said Monday she is “indignant” over a congressional vote to open impeachment proceedings against her and vowed to fight what she called the injustice. She again categorically ruled out resigning.

In her first public appearance since the Chamber of Deputies voted 367-137 late Sunday to send the impeachment proceedings to the Senate for a possible trial, Brazil’s first female president appeared shaken but delivered a message of defiance.

Rousseff repeated the words “indignant,” “injustice” and “wronged” dozens of times during her news conference in the presidential palace. She also repeated her long-stated position that she hasn’t done anything illegal and is the victim of a “coup” orchestrated by her political foes.

Bathroom bill fails in Tenn. legislature

NASHVILLE, Tenn.

A transgender bathroom bill in the Tennessee legislature failed Monday after the House sponsor said she was withdrawing the legislation while waiting to see how legal challenges play out in other states that have passed similar measures.

The bill’s demise follows intense lobbying from both supporters and opponents of the measure and questions about potential economic fallout if it were to become law.

Forest Wagner, 35, of Fairbanks, was with a group of 12 students on Mount Emmerich near Haines, Alaska, when he was attacked, according to University of Alaska Southeast spokeswoman Kate Bausler. A student hiked down the mountain to get cell reception and call for help.

His condition is currently unknown but his next of kin have been notified of the attack, according to troopers.
