Time Bank Mahoning Watershed is local people sharing time and skills to build communities. It is a way for people to help others in their communities and be rewarded for it – in time.
Mission statement: Time Bank Mahoning Watershed Inc. is an umbrella network of community groups based on time dollars, the currency of equally valued services, the exchange of which empowers individuals to use their assets, to enhance their lives, neighborhoods and communities.
Share Fest: Kyrene Rodriguez, a time-bank member, is organizing a Share Fest planned from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. May 7 at First Presbyterian Church, 201 Wick Ave., Youngstown. The theme is “Building Communities.” The event will include a “swap-a-rama” of clothing and books. There will be tables set up that will be devoted to various activities that members offer.
Convener: Tony Budak of Hubbard is chief executive officer of the nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization. He worked at Packard Electric for 40 years, retiring in 2004. He was a labor-union organizer in Local 717 and worked with people on the shop floor. His skill set, he said, includes organization abilities and human relations.
