STRUTHERS
The game ended with the Wildcats scoring after a fielding error. The game featured 27 hits, 13 walks, 25 strikeouts, 32 runners left on base, seven errors and nine pitchers. Pat Carano led the Wildcats with five hits including a double. Jake Kriebel and Jason Hall each had three hits while Mason Morell’s two hits included a double. For the Tigers, Andy Sodergren and Zach Renaldy doubled while Brannon Brungard had three hits.

Brandon Chuey, Austin Buck and Tyler Hurd combined for the pitching win. Devin Turevy’s three hits included a solo homer for the Rebels (9-1). Tyler Hurd doubled and Riley Mackall singled and scored. K. Turney pitched five innings for the Quakers and J. Carnes singled and scored.

Girard 11, Trinity 1
AKRON
Girard’s Sydney Vukovich gave up just one run on three hits and no walks as the Indians stymied Trinity at the Ohio Invitational at Firestone Stadium. Vukovich stuck out 10 in six innings to get the win and added a double at the plate. Karlee Bryne smacked a three-run home run and Hannah Jones hit a triple. Rosie Maderitz had three hits and Jess Dohy two.
Girard 9, Steubenville 4
AKRON
Byrne got on the mound in the third and stopped the bleeding, striking out 13 and allowing no hits or walks through the rest of the contest. Byrne and Maderitz each had three hits, with Byrne’s including two doubles for three RBIs. Mel Bakes, Vukovich, Chris Cario and Lorren Aljears each had two hits.
Woodridge 7, Springfield 6

Josie Applegarth had three of the Tigers’ 11 hits. Cassie Bacon and Jacqueline Kish each had two singles. For Woodridge, C. Raid tripled.

Lindsey Druschel hit a two-run homer while Nikki Bovo hit a solo homer. Druschel also doubled. Makenzy Capoullez’s three hits included a triple. Winning pitcher Josie Applegarth had two singles for the Tigers (6-2). For the Blue Devils, Maddie Krietzburg and Sydney Miller each had two hits.
