Businesses learn about federal contract work
VIENNA
About 100 small businesses from the Mahoning Valley came to the Youngstown Air Reserve Station to learn about federal contract work this morning.
The business owners will hear from several speakers including U.S. Rep. Tim Ryan of Howland, D-13th, and a veteran business owner who has contracts with the government for construction work.
U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown was also supposed to be in attendance but could not make it to the event.
Business owners will hear about how to utilize the Small Business Administration office to learn about opportunities for federal contracts. They will also learn of the economic impact federal contracts with small businesses have on the community.
"This isn't easy," Ryan said. "It takes a little effort but from our experience if you can figure it out it can benefit your business a great deal."
