Jennings sets up summer programs for kids

SLIPPERY ROCK, PA.
Jennings Environmental Education Center, 2951 Prospect Road, has opened registration for a series of programs for children this summer.
The programs will offer hands-on activities and healthy outdoor activities, and participants will receive a certificate and other materials upon completion of the series. Call Jennings at 724-794-6011 to register for the events. Payment is required by June 3. Checks can be made out to the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
Three age-specific programs will be offered. They are Hide-N-Seekers, a program for ages 4 to 5 with morning sessions from 10:30 to noon and afternoon sessions 1:30 to 3 p.m. June 14, 21 and 28. The theme will be birds.
Outdoor Explorers for age 6 to 8 will be offered from 10 a.m. to noon and 1 to 3 p.m. June 30 and July 7 and 14, and the theme is mammals and tracking. Seekers and explorers programs will cost $5 per child, per program.
Penn’s Adventurers for age 9 to 12 is set for 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. July 20 and 27 and Aug. 3. The focus will be outdoor adventures and will be $10 per child per program.
Families also are encouraged to register for concurrent sessions offered at Moraine State Park. For information about other sessions and to register, go to www.visitpaparks.com, click events calendar, and select a park.
