BATF offers reward for info in Warren gun dealer burglary

The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives and the National Shooting Sports Foundation, the trade association for the firearms industry, are offering a reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for the burglary of J&D Firearms, a federal firearms licensee at 3323 Parkman Road NW, Warren.

ATF is offering a reward of up to $5,000, which will be matched by the NSSF for a total possible reward of $10,000. The burglary occurred early March 29. The burglary involved 30 firearms, 27 of which were handguns. ATF and Warren Police Department are investigating.

Anyone having information is asked to call ATF at 1-800-ATF-GUNS (800-283-4867). All calls will be kept confidential.

The break-in was perpetrated by breaking through a section of the rear wall of the business at 6:51 a.m., according to a Warren police report.

Two suspects appeared to be wearing gloves and masks. Among the weapons taken were two AR-15s, lightweight, intermediate cartridge, magazine-fed, air-cooled, semiautomatic assault rifles.
