A summary of police activity in the city of Canfield and Austintown:

CANFIELD

April 5

Warrant: Michael Bartell, 19, of Springfield Road, Poland surrendered on a Canfield Mayor’s Court warrant for failure to appear.

Warrant: Police arrested Billy Evans, 50, of Akron-Canfield Road, on a warrant for parole violation out of Kentucky and on a charge of drug abuse.

April 6

No license: Police cited Mark Grimstead, 40, of Meadowbrook Avenue, Boardman, for not having a peddler’s license.

April 8

Tax fraud: A fraudulent tax return was filed with the Internal Revenue Service. The fraud was reported by a person who lives at a home on Hickory Hollow Drive.

April 11

Drug abuse: Police arrested Ryan Coman, 23, of Canton, on a charge of drug abuse.

AUSTINTOWN

April 4

Warrant: Police arrested Peter Larkin, 56, of West Hampton Drive on a warrant for failure to appear on a criminal-trespassing charge.

April 5

Burglary: An unlocked window was found at a burglary at a home in the 100 block of North Roanoke Avenue. Numerous items from the theft were found at another home in the 100 block of North Roanoke.

Criminal damaging: A window was broken at a home in the 4000 block of Nantucket Boulevard.

Recovered property: A cellphone was recovered at G&G Wireless/Sprint, 5625 Mahoning Ave.

April 6

Burglary: A Smith & Wesson handgun was taken from a home in the 400 block of South Edgehill Avenue.

Theft: Prescription medications were stolen from a purse at Comprehensive Logistics, 365 Victoria Road.

Theft: Police arrested Jessica Ralston, 28, of Austinburg, Ohio, on charges of theft, possessing drug-abuse instruments, possession of drug paraphernalia and complicity, and Luke Ralston, 34, same address, on a warrant for theft, possession of drug-abuse instruments, possession of drug paraphernalia, possessing criminal tools and complicity. Police accuse the pair of taking $192.64 in merchandise from Walmart, 6001 Mahoning Ave.

Falsification: Police issued a summons to Tequila Coats-Joe, 20, of Compass West Drive, on a falsification charge.

April 7

Telecommunications harassment: Numerous unwanted text messages were reported at a home in the 3000 block of Burkey Road.

Auto theft: A 2014 Toyota vehicle was stolen from a home in the 1000 block of Cedarwood Drive.

Menacing: A written threat was reported at Austintown Fitch High School, 4560 Falcon Drive.

Assault: Police arrested a student after assaulting another student at Fitch High School.

Theft: A pistol was reported stolen from a home in the 4000 block of Westchester Drive.

Disorderly conduct: Police arrested a 14-year-old student on charges of disorderly conduct and resisting arrest at Fitch High School.

Warrant: Police arrested Russell Legg, 18, of Kirk Road on a warrant on charges for aiding and abetting.

April 8

Theft: A male was observed on video stealing merchandise from Kmart, 4475 Mahoning Ave.

Telecommunications harassment: Unwanted text messages were reported at an apartment in the 1000 block of Compass West.

Warrant: Police arrested William Matsouris, 22, of North Roanoke Avenue, on a warrant for failure to appear on an assault charge at the California Palms and Suites, 1051 N. Canfield-Niles Road.

Theft: Police arrested Kali Robinson, 23, of Cleveland, Joseph Huff, 22, of Elyria, and Darrell Boykins, 32, of Cleveland, on charges of theft, possession of criminal tools and criminal trespassing at Phoenix House, 850 N. Meridian Road.

April 9

Warrant: Police arrested Joseph Stone, 22, of Griswold Road, Elyria, on a warrant for failure to appear on a theft charge.

Recovered property: A Chase Visa credit card was recovered at Speedway, 4701 Kirk Road.

Theft: Various items were taken from three vehicles parked at a home in the 4000 block of Pembrook Road.

Warrant: Police arrested Pashun Murphy, 24, of Columbus on a warrant for misuse of 911.

April 10

Warrant: Police arrested Jarel Gibbs, 34, of Forest Hill Drive on a warrant for failure to appear on a traffic charge.

Theft: Coins, pocket knives and a wallet were stolen from a vehicle parked at a home in the 4000 block of Pembrook Road.

Recovered property: A fuel card and reward card were recovered at Speedway, 4401 Kirk Road.

Theft: Several items were taken from an auto parked at a home in the 4000 block of Westchester Drive.
