Police said they arrested Corey Miller, 23, of Columbiana on Thursday morning on charges of breaking and entering, tampering with coin machines and receiving stolen property.

According to a police report, police responded about 8 a.m. to a breaking and entering and safe-cracking at the Maytag Coin Laundry on Poland Road. Employees told officers they discovered the office door was unlocked, the safe door was open and there was a hole in the office wall. A total of $1,000 in quarters and $300 in cash was taken.

Security cameras identified the clothing the male suspect wore while breaking in, and police advised loss prevention at nearby Walmart to be on the lookout for anyone fitting the description. A detective from Struthers Police Department, meanwhile, identified Miller.

Walmart notified police that a man fitting the description was cashing out a large amount of quarters at a kiosk about 11 a.m. Officials stopped the vehicle he left in and detained Miller, who was with two individuals released at the scene.

Police showed Miller a still picture of the crime scene from the security footage, confiscated $652 from Miller’s wallet, cellphone and his coin-kiosk receipt. He was taken to the Mahoning County jail and awaits arraignment Tuesday morning.
