Engel to speak on Wright brothers

Staff report

WARREN

Elliot Engel will be the next speaker in the Trumbull Town Hall series, when he visits Packard Music Hall, 1703 Mahoning Ave., Wednesday at 10:30 a.m.

Tickets are $28 (fees may apply) at ticketmaster.com and at the box office.

A scholar and performer, Engel will deliver a presentation on the individual personalities of Wilber and Orville Wright, who are famous as a duo, but whose personal lives have been swallowed up by history. The result of meticulous research, Engel’s presentation will reveal two equally fascinating but very different individuals who, working together, produced one of mankind’s most revolutionary inventions – the airplane.

Originally from Indianapolis, Engel now lives in Raleigh, N.C., where he has taught at the University of North Carolina, North Carolina State University and Duke University.

He has written 10 books and continues to give literary and historical programs.
