Local auto sales up slightly in March

YOUNGSTOWN — New and used-auto sales in the Mahoning Valley were slightly up in March over March 2015.

A total of 5,329 sales were made in March, up from 5,153 reported last March.

The data, which comes from auto titles processed by county title departments by the final business day each month, was recently released by the Greater Cleveland Automobile Dealers Association.

The top three dealerships for new and used sales were: Greenwood Chevrolet in Austintown; Sweeney Chevrolet of Boardman; and Taylor Kia of Boardman.

The the top three new models in March were: Chevrolet Equinox with 224 sales; the Chevrolet Silverado with 201 sales; and the Lordstown-built Chevrolet Cruze with 164 sales.
