Fire destroys vacant Parkwood Avenue home

YOUNGSTOWN — Fire reports said a vacant 853 Parkwood Ave. home was destroyed by fire early Monday morning.

Crews were called to the South Side home about 3:55 a.m. and found it totally engulfed in flames when they arrived. A nearby home suffered heat damage, reports said.

Reports said neighbors told firefighters the home has been vacant for about two months.

Damage is listed at $4,500, a total loss. There were no injuries.
