YOUNGSTOWN

Bryan Adams will return to Youngstown on Sept. 13 for a concert at Covelli Centre.

Tickets are $89.50, $69.50 and $49.50 and $29.50 and go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday at ticketmaster.com, by phone at 800-745-3000, all Ticketmaster outlets and at the Covelli box office.

Adams, whose hits include “Cuts Like a Knife,” “I Did It For You,” “Heaven,” “Summer of ’69” and Run to You,” last came to the Valley in 2010 for a concert at Powers Auditorium.

The Canadian rocker’s recently released 13th studio album, “Get Up,” was produced by Electric Light Orchestra frontman Jeff Lynne and co-written with his long-time collaborator, Jim Vallance. The album features nine new songs and four acoustic versions.

On Sunday, Adams canceled a performance in Mississippi, citing the state’s new law that allows religious groups and some private businesses to refuse service to gay couples.

The singer says he can’t “in good conscience” perform in a state where “certain people are being denied their civil rights due to their sexual orientation.”

The move comes after Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band canceled a Sunday show in Greensboro, N.C., because of the state’s new law blocking anti-discrimination rules for the LGBT community.

The Mississippi law will take effect July 1. Supporters say it offers protection for Christians who adhere to traditional views of marriage and gender roles.
