Rotary flag project enters second phase

SPECIAL TO THE VINDICATOR | The Austintown Rotary Club is ready to begin the second phase of Austintown Flags, which will place American flags in neighborhood and business yards. Now in its third year, a payment of $30 allows residents to lease an American-made flag for six patriotic holidays throughout one year to be placed on a locally made steel staff. Rotary members and other volunteers will install 2015 and 2016 flag orders from May 13 to 16, and will remove them after displaying them on Memorial Day on May 30, Flag Day on June 14 and the Fourth of July. The flags will reappear before Labor Day on Sept. 5 and will fly for Sept. 11 and Veterans Day on Nov. 11. Residents who already have had flags should watch their mail or email for a current billing. Some will be mailed in early May, and others will be billed in early August. For information, visit www.AustintownFlags.com, or call Mark Cole, chairman, at 330-720-0381.
