The Great Conjunction Expo & Psychic Fair will take place from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. April 23 and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. April 24 at Holiday Inn, 7410 South Ave.

The event will include psychics, mediums, Reiki practitioners, astrologers, spirit artists, hand-made jewelry and crystals. There also will be free lectures and workshops throughout the weekend. The metaphysical expos are produced by Great Conjunction Spiritual Center, a Youngstown-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit. Tickets will be available at the door and online at: www.greatconjunctionexpo.com.

Woman has crash after heart attack

HOWLAND

Catherine Smolkovich, 77, of Warren crashed her car after suffering a heart attack on Mines Road, east of state Route 46, Saturday afternoon. She was driving east on Mines when the event occurred, causing her car to go off the right side of the road and strike a fire hydrant. Township emergency personnel arrived and began life-saving techniques, according to a press release from the Warren Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol. Smolkovich was transported to Trumbull Memorial Hospital in critical condition. She was wearing her seat belt and was not injured from the crash, the OSHP said.

Sharing meds

POLAND

The dangers of sharing prescription medications is the main topic of Beaver Police Department’s Crime Watch meeting at 7 p.m. April 26 at Shepherd of the Valley-Poland, 9111 Sharrot Road at the corner of West Western Reserve Road.

The program is presented by Jackie Carson, a Walgreens pharmacist. Local crime statistics also will be discussed.

Drug Take-Back Day

LIBERTY

The township police department, along with the U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency, will sponsor a National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 30 at the township administration building, 1315 Church Hill-Hubbard Road. A township police officer will be present to supervise the collection. Anyone may bring unused, unwanted or expired prescription drugs. No needles, sharp objects or liquids will be accepted.

Grafting apple trees

MERCER, PA.

Munnell Run Farm, 753 Greenville Road, along with the Mercer County Conservation District, will welcome speaker Jack Stupka from 5 to 6:30 p.m. April 18. Stupka, owner of Fruitland Acres in Mercer, will lead a hands-on workshop at which he will share information about grafting an apple tree, with John Grimes. Cortland, yellow delicious and summer rose apple trees will be available to graft. All supplies will be provided. Cost is $20 and participants must register and pay by Monday.
