CANFIELD

March 27

Warrant: Police arrested Patrick McCausland, 36, of Monroe Falls, Ohio, on a warrant for failure to appear on 2007 traffic violations.

March 29

Falsification: Police arrested Paul Hubbard, 62, of Canton for falsification during a traffic stop for driving violations.

AUSTINTOWN

March 28

Drug offense: Police issued a summons to Anthony Loibl, 36, of Burkey Road, on a charge of possession of marijuana.

Menacing: Two males were arguing over their grandmother at a home in the 5000 block of Stanford Ave.

Theft: A package sent to El Paso, Texas, was never delivered, according to Jeswald Auto Truck Service, 6528 Mahoning Ave.

Assault: A female was assaulted by another female at Rodeo, 1743 S. Raccoon Road.

Warrant: Police arrested Yirande Rosete, 43, of Olive Avenue, Warren, on a warrant for theft.

Warrant: Police arrested Gary Keeley, 28, of Fairmont Avenue, Hermitage, Pa., on a warrant for receiving stolen property.

Theft: A generator and miscellaneous tools were stolen from the breezeway area of a home in the 3000 block of South Raccoon Road.

Aggravated menacing: Threats were made over a snapshot at a home in the 4000 block of New Road.

Assault: There was a fight between two males at Pilot Oil, 1150 N. Canfield-Niles Road.

Disrupting public service: Police arrested Cassandra Santiago, 21, of Compass West on a charge of disrupting public service after making several calls to 911 because she couldn’t get into her apartment building. Her key card broke off in the entrance door.

Theft: A lost or stolen iPhone was reported at Highway Tabernacle, 3000 S. Raccoon Road.

March 29

Theft: A male suspect scammed a clerk for $50 at BP gas station, 890 N. Niles-Canfield Road.

Aggravated menacing: A student had a knife at Austintown Middle School, 800 S. Raccoon Road.

Theft: Cash and a debit card were stolen at Arby’s, 701 N. Canfield-Niles Road.

Criminal damaging: A car stereo was damaged by an ex-husband at Rulli Bros., 4331 Kirk Road.

March 30

Drug offense: Police arrested Damon Phelps, 39, of Idaho Road on a charge of possession of marijuana and on a warrant for failure to appear on a traffic charge out of Liberty.

Warrant: Police arrested Sarina Vesa, 33, of West Chalmers Avenue, Youngstown, on a warrant for theft.

Robbery: Police arrested Jeremiah Honthy, 20, of West Liberty Street, Hubbard, on a robbery charge. Police said a Pilot Oil employee said Honthy stole two sandwiches and a beer. The employee unsuccessfully tried to stop him from leaving.

Auto theft: A 2015 Chevrolet Malibu was stolen from an apartment in the 4000 block of Westchester Drive.

Criminal trespassing: Christopher Strickland, 46, of Oak Street, Warren, was released on a summons after being charged with criminal trespassing at Walmart, 6001 Mahoning Ave.

Disorderly conduct: Police issued a summons to Blake Sudol, 20, of Idaho Road on a charge of disorderly conduct.

Drug offense: Police issued a summons to Martin Chizmar, 53, of Main Street, Mineral Ridge, on charges of possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of cocaine, and on a warrant for failure to appear for a pretrial hearing.

Warrant: Police arrested Keith Fizet, 42, of Forest Hill Drive, on a warrant for failure to appear on a traffic charge.

Telecommunications harassment: Calls and texts were received at a home in the 3000 block of Meanderwood Drive.

Receiving stolen property: Police arrested Dennis Rinker, 26, of Frazeysburg, Ohio, on charges of receiving stolen property, possession of drug-abuse instruments, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of criminal tools, and criminal simulation, and Bryant Trout, 23, of Newark, on charges of possession of drug-abuse instruments, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of criminal tools and criminal simulation. Both also are charged with a theft at Kmart,4475 Mahoning Ave.

March 31

Lost or stolen property: A driver’s license was reported lost or stolen from a home in the 4000 block of Westchester Drive.

Warrant: Police arrested Michael Johnson, 37, of Tod Lane, Youngstown, on a warrant for felonious assault for purportedly beating and stabbing a woman and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Identity theft: Unauthorized charges were reported at a home in the 200 block of North Beverly Avenue.

Theft: An iPhone was stolen from a home in the 70 block of North Raccoon Road.

Theft: An iPhone was taken from Certified Oil, 825 N. Canfield-Niles Road.

Theft: Clothing was taken at J.C. Penney, 6000 Mahoning Ave.

Telecommunications harassment: Unwanted phone calls were reported at a home in the 100 block of North Navarre Avenue.

Warrant: Police arrested Megan Berlin, 20, of Struthers, on a warrant for theft.

April 1

Drug offense: Police arrested David Busser, 39, of Cleveland on a charge of possession of marijuana and cocaine, and MacKenzie Long, 24, of Parma on a charge of possession of cocaine and marijuana.

Theft: Police issued a summons to Terry Lewis, 60, of Westchester Drive, on a theft charge. Police accused Lewis of taking $14.67 worth of merchandise from Marc’s,4755 Mahoning Ave.

Fraud: Unauthorized charges were made on a credit card at a home in the 3000 block of New Road.

Felonious assault: A bondsman claims he was shot at by three suspects, all of whom were apprehended on warrants. Police identified the men as Brian Clay, 50, of Jefferson Street, Warren, on a warrant for failure to appear on a theft charge; James Foster, 43, of Poplar Street, Niles, arrested on charges of possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of drug-abuse instruments and a warrant for failure to appear on a theft charge; and Michael Callahan, 45, of Church Hill Road, Girard, warrant for failure to appear on traffic violations.

Warrant: Police arrested Daniel Day, 31, of Chestnut Street, Andover, on a warrant for failure to appear on a traffic charge.

Warrant: Police arrested Robert Matthews, 44, of Westwind Place on a warrant for receiving stolen property and failure to comply.

Identity theft: A Social Security number was improperly used. The matter was reported to police by a person who lives at a home in the 3000 block of Cumberland Drive.

April 2

Theft: Someone stole $400 in ATM cash from Hollywood Gaming at Mahoning Valley Race Course, 777 Hollywood Drive.

Theft: Unauthorized charges were made to a credit card that belonged to a person who lives at a home in the 30 block of Kroeck Avenue.

Telecommunications harassment: Threatening text messages were reported at a home in the 10 block of North Navarre Avenue.

April 3

Warrant: Police arrested Anthony Morton, 31, homeless, on a warrant for resisting arrest and obstructing official business.

Auto theft: A 2003 Pontiac Vibe was stolen from a home in the 4000 block of Carlisle Avenue.

Theft: Police arrested Crystal Huff, 19, of Elyria, on a theft charge. Police accused her of taking $39.82 in merchandise from Walmart.

Warrant: Police arrested Marquis Elliot, 30, of Glenwood Avenue, Youngstown, on a warrant for failure to appear on a traffic violation.

Arrest: Police arrested Christopher Giles, 40, of Collins Avenue, for violation of a protection order.

Warrant: Police arrested Oliver Dankins, 45, of South Edgehill Avenue on a warrant and issued a summons for drug abuse.

HUBBARD

March 30

Menacing: Nicholas Vecchiarelli, 49, of Meadowland Drive, Hubbard, faced a menacing charge after a Helen Drive man alleged that while walking his dog, a motorist had swerved toward him intentionally and later made threatening gestures, causing the accuser to fear for his safety.

March 31

Burglary: Someone reportedly entered a residence in the 800 block of Johnny K Boulevard without permission and stole two pairs of tennis shoes, one pair of which was recovered.

Theft: Thomas A. Vargo Jr., of Fox Street, Hubbard, was charged after his brother alleged the 23-year-old Vargo had stolen $40 from his vehicle.

April 1

Arrest: After receiving a 911 call from Family Dollar, 437 E. Liberty St., authorities charged Jonathan M. Conway, 28, of Creed Avenue, Hubbard, with carrying a concealed weapon, obstructing official business, menacing and disorderly conduct after several workers alleged he had rammed a display case with a shopping cart and threatened one employee. Conway also refused numerous times to follow officers’ commands and had a pocket knife, a report stated.

Theft: Video surveillance showed a man reportedly stealing four boxes of a hair-treatment product from Walgreen’s Pharmacy, 15 S. Main St.

April 2

Citation: Police issued 51-year-old Stephen G. Graban of East Park Avenue, Hubbard, a minor-misdemeanor citation after several residents had complained about excessive junk on his property. Upon inspection, officers found a rusted farm tractor, a trailer filled with rusted weights and tools, and plastic bins with junk, among other items, a report showed.

GIRARD

March 30

Harassment: Two Church Hill Road residents alleged their daughter’s boyfriend had sent them a threatening text message, causing the accusers to fear for their safety.

Theft: A Beechwood Avenue man discovered a .40-caliber pistol missing from a safe.

March 31

Aggravated menacing: A manager with a North State Street company alleged a former temporary employee had threatened to shoot another agency employee and bring a gun to the accuser’s business.

Drugs: While serving a warrant to a North Highland Avenue man, authorities reportedly found and seized in the home six suspected marijuana plants, numerous hypodermic needles and spoons for heroin use, a suspected marijuana pipe and digital scales. Charges were pending.

April 2

Criminal mischief: Someone in the 400 block of Elruth Court tossed eggs at a car and did roughly $1,000 in damage to its hood.

Breaking and entering: A garage was broken into in the 200 block of South Market Street, though it appeared nothing was taken.

Possible attempted burglary/harassment: A West Second Street man told police he noticed a front-screen doorknob was damaged, possibly when someone had tried to enter. He also reported having received harassing text messages.

April 3

Criminal mischief: A rock likely was used to damage a double-pane window to a residence in the 10 block of South Ward Avenue. Damage was estimated at $500.

Menacing: A Stull Avenue woman alleged her boyfriend made threats against her, including a threat to kill her.

Criminal mischief: A car in the 300 block of East Broadway Avenue was found with a smashed driver’s-side window. The damage came to $300.

Criminal mischief: Two 16-year-old boys reportedly smashed a police cruiser’s window in the 200 block of East Prospect Street.

LIBERTY

March 31

Arrest: A 16-year-old Youngstown boy faced a charge of obstructing official business after police had stopped his vehicle in the 3500 block of Belmont Avenue. The teen lied about his name and age, a report showed.

Arrest: A traffic stop near Green Acres Drive led to the arrest of 18-year-old Denzel L. Mack of Green Acres, Liberty, on warrants charging him with assault and intimidation with a firearm, a felony. Mack also received a minor-misdemeanor citation when, police alleged, he had a small bag of suspected marijuana.

April 1

Theft: An employee for a business in the 4700 block of Belmont Avenue reported a makeup bag containing $500 and other items had been removed from a locker.

Possible theft: A co-owner of a Fairlawn Avenue business reported two large compressors, a transmission jack and miscellaneous tools missing.

Arrest: Police answered a call regarding a runaway juvenile on Warner Road before charges of criminal trespassing, theft and possession of criminal tools were pending against a 16-year-old Hubbard girl. A family member discovered a bottle of over-the-counter pills missing and that a bedroom window’s lock had been broken, authorities said.

Aggravated menacing: A Keefer Road woman reported having gotten a series of threatening text messages, including one implying that she should be killed.

April 2

Arrest: David E. Cobb, 25, of West Boston Avenue, Youngstown, faced a charge of operating a vehicle impaired after authorities had pulled him over near Belmont Avenue.

Harassment: An East Montrose Street woman alleged her estranged husband had made a series of such calls to her, including a threat to drive his vehicle through and damage her garage door.

Citation: A traffic stop on Trumbull Avenue resulted in a citation charging 20-year-old Alexis E. Votaw of Tod Avenue, Warren, with operating a vehicle impaired. Votaw’s blood-alcohol count was 0.155, nearly double Ohio’s 0.08 legal limit, a report showed.

April 3

Theft: A Youngstown man reportedly left Denny’s Restaurant, 4020 Belmont Ave., without paying his $15 food bill.

April 4

Arrest: Officers took 25-year-old Marlon J. Tarver into custody at his Roosevelt Drive residence. The township man was wanted on a domestic-violence charge.

Arrest: Authorities at the Mahoning County jail picked up 28-year-old Kevin D. Henderson of Halls Heights Avenue, Youngstown, who was wanted on a township warrant accusing him of failing to appear in court.

Domestic violence: Michael J. Jones, 34, of Sierra Vista, Ariz., faced a felony charge after his former wife alleged he had slammed her head and shoulders into a bed’s headboard while they were at a Belmont Avenue motel. The victim had no visible injuries, but the charge was elevated because of Jones’ criminal history, a report said.

Drugs: Police in downtown Youngstown took 58-year-old Lynn D. Robinson into custody. The Woodstock, Va., man was wanted on township warrants charging possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia.

Arrest: The Ohio State Highway Patrol handed Taylor D. Carnell, 24, to township authorities. Carnell, of Division Street, Youngstown, was wanted on a Girard Municipal Court warrant charging him with a probation violation.

April 5

Burglary: Occurred at a home in the 5700 block of Belmont Avenue through the front door, though it appeared nothing was missing.

Burglary: Took place at an apartment in the 3100 block of Hadley Avenue via a side window. Taken were a 55-inch TV and assorted jewelry.
