Ex-auditor Sciortino expected to plead guilty to felony Monday

Ex-Mahoning County Auditor Michael V. Sciortino is to plead guilty today to one felony and one misdemeanor in Mahoning County Common Pleas Court.

Visiting Judge Patricia A. Cosgrove is expected to sentence him sometime next month.

A deal worked out with special prosecutors will have Sciortino, a Democrat, plead guilty to one felony and one misdemeanor of unauthorized use of property – computer or telecommunication property.

Sciortino was indicted June 4, 2015, in Mahoning County on 25 felonies: 21 counts of unauthorized use of property – computer or telecommunication property – and four counts of theft in office.
