“Community Connection” (Sunday at 6:30 a.m. on 21 WFMJ-TV and 11 a.m. on WBCB-TV): The Ohio Utilities Protection Services (OUPS) is conducting an informational “call before you dig” campaign this month. Abby Soto-Pacheco, public relations specialist, will join host Madonna Chism Pinkard to discuss the program, common errors that consumers make in digging simple things such as a garden bed and how to contact the OUPS.

Civil War Tales is lecture topic
CANFIELD
The Canfield HIstorical Society’s free spring lecture series will begin at 7 p.m. Thursday, when Paul Hobe gives a presentation titled “Polly’s Diary and Other Assorted Civil War Tales” at the Bond House, 44 W. Main St.
Hobe’s lecture will touch on Abraham Lincoln and Camp Ford in Alliance, where the 19th Ohio was mustered in the fall of 1861.
Excerpts from the personal diary of a North Benton girl whose brother was in the 19th Ohio Volunteer Regiment will be shared. Attendees also will enjoy singing the “Song of the 19th.” Call 330-533-3458 for information.
