St. Cyril and Methodius Church, 252 E. Wood St., of Our Lady of Sorrows Parish will celebrate its 120th anniversary April 16. A Mass will take place at 4 p.m. with Bishop George V. Murry. Dinner will take place at 5:30 p.m. at the Father Snock Center at St. Matthias Church, 915 Cornell St.

Retreat planned

Sister Simone Campbell will be the featured speaker at a two-day conference retreat, “Being the Body of God in a Polarized World,” planned from 7 p.m. April 22 and to 4 p.m. April 23 at Villa Maria Education and Spirituality Center.
The time will look at the divisive political reality and the challenge of the Gospel in the world.
Sister Campbell has served as executive director of NETWORK since 2004.
She is a religious leader, attorney and poet with extensive experience in public policy and advocacy for systemic change.
Sister Campbell has led three cross-country “Nuns on the Bus” trips focused on economic justice, comprehensive immigration reform and voter turnout.
The cost is $135 for retreat, lodging and meals/refreshments. Optional second overnight stay is $50 and includes Saturday dinner, Sunday breakfast and one additional overnight accommodations.

Women in Bible
CANFIELD
The Ursuline Center, 4280 Shields Road, is offering “Women of the New Testament” workshops led by Mary Resnik, a minister of hospitality at The Ursuline Center.
Among the Biblical women explored will be Mary, the Mother of Jesus, and Mary of Bethany, Mary Magdalene and Martha.
Workshops will take place from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Thursdays, May 5, June 2, July 7, Aug. 4 and Sept. 1.

The center is a ministry of the Ursuline Sisters of Youngstown.
Clergy breakfast
YOUNGSTOWN
ACTION will sponsor a clergy breakfast April 19 at New Bethel Baptist Church, 1507 Hilllman St., with the Rev. Kenneth Simon host pastor. Breakfast will be at 9:15 a.m. with the program following. “Sacred Conversations on Racism” is the continuing theme.

The session is open to all pastors, ministers, elders, evangelists and clergy leaders.
