Ohio Rock Legends tickets now on sale

SEBRING

Ohio Rock Legends will perform at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Sebring McKinley High School auditorium, 225 E. Indiana Ave. Tickets are $20 ($30 for reserved seating; includes meet and greet) and are available at the school, at Gattuso’s Music on Market Street in Canton, and online at sebring.k12.oh.us.

The unique rock show features drummer Joe Vitale, who performs with Joe Walsh and has also worked with the Eagles, Peter Frampton and Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young. Also featured are Gary Markasky, former lead guitarist with the Michael Stanley Band; Marty Lee Hoenes, lead guitarist with Donnie Iris and the Cruisers; and Chris Wintrip, guitarist and vocalist with Brimstone; and Kevin Di-Simone, a keyboardist who has worked with Barry Manilow, Carly Simon and Willie Nelson.

The four rockers will play songs they’ve written for their bands. Evolution, an Eric Clapton tribute band led by Wintrip, will open the show.

Haller takes prize in speech contest

YOUNGSTOWN

Ed Haller of the Youngstown Toastmasters Club took first place in the International Speech contest at the District 10 Central Division Contest at the Cuyahoga Falls Library on March 30.

The Warren resident will compete in the District 10 championship April 16 at Malone University in Canton. District 10 covers Northeast Ohio from Cleveland to Harrison County.

Haller also took second place in the Central Division evaluation contest.

He also was the 2015 fall district champion. Haller is the director of water pollution control for the city of Warren and vice president of education for the local Toastmasters club.
