Students at Robinwood Lane Elementary celebrated KISS Day on March 18.
KISS Day stands for Kids Invite Someone Special. The students in kindergarten, third- and fourth-grades had the opportunity to bring in someone that was special to them. Many students brought in parents, grandparents or other family members.
“We do it every year. Kindergarten always does it so the students do it at least twice while they’re here. It’s kindergarten every year then either first- and second- or third- and fourth-grade,” said Don Robinson, principal at Robinwood Lane.
The students in third- and fourth-grade celebrated their KISS Day in the morning while the kindergarten classes celebrated in the afternoon.
Jennifer Flores, physical education teacher, organized the program for this KISS Day. This demonstration was for the students to show how much they have learned in gym class. The special guests got to witness the students show off their locomotor skills by performing different relays in the gymnasium.
Every year the students switch between a musical performance and a physical program. Both programs are enjoyed by the students. As long as the students are engaged with their special someone, they are happy to show off anything they can do.
The guests enjoy coming to visit the students and watching what they learn in school, especially when the students learn something specifically for their special guests.
