OLC report shows increase in VLT revenue at Hollywood Gaming

Penn National’s Hollywood Gaming at Mahoning Valley Race Course saw a more than 10 percent increase in video lottery terminal revenue in March.

The racino’s VLT, or slot machine, revenue was more than $8.8 million, according to data the Ohio Lottery Commission released Thursday.

In March 2015, revenue was more than $7.9 million.

But in March 2015, the racino had 865 slot machines, compared with 940 in March 2016.

“While we typically don’t comment on monthly revenues, our teams continue to focus on providing our guests with best-in-class customer service and entertainment, and these numbers reflect that at our Ohio facilities, including Hollywood Gaming at Mahoning Valley Race Course,” said Eric Schippers, senior vice president of Penn National Gaming Inc.

The OLC report also shows $88.8 million in credits played at Hollywood Gaming. Gamers won $79 million in credits – an 89.99 percent payout – which equated to a win per day per VLT of $305.

Promotional play credits went from $516,285 up to $851,560.

The state’s seven racinos reported revenue of $78.6 million, compared with $72.7 million reported in March 2015.

The state’s four casinos reported revenue of $73.7 million in March 2016, compared with $72.8 million reported in March 2015.
