The Poland Junior Women’s Club and New Life Church joined together to sponsor the 10th annual Easter Egg Hunt at Poland Town Hall on March 19.
This community event brings in hundreds of people to participate in several different Easter activities. Activities included a story time at the Poland library across the street, balloon artists, egg hunts and face paintings. The Easter Bunny, princesses and superheroes walked around Town Hall for children to take pictures with. Hot chocolate and cookies were free and available for guests.
“We have face painting, balloon artists, fire trucks, police cars, and it’s all free to the community,” said Dianne Phillips, the chair person of the Poland Junior Women’s Club and the Egg Hunt.
The children could sit on the Easter Bunny’s lap to get a picture with him and visit the other princesses and superheroes. Some children got their faces painted to look like a bunny and others toured the inside of the fire and police trucks. Each area of Town Hall had an activity to keep the children occupied.
Baskets that were put together by the Poland Junior Women’s club were raffled off after the event. There were also golden eggs that have other donations from the community. The golden egg prizes consisted of tickets, gift cards and other donations.
There were different egg hunt times and locations for different age groups. Inside the eggs were candies, small toys and the golden tickets to win the golden egg prizes.
The Poland Junior Women’s Club and New Life Church will continue working together to make this community event stay an annual tradition. Members from all around the Poland community come together to put on an event that is enjoyable for children and their parents.
