• Mill Creek Chapter of the American Business Women’s Association will meet at 6 p.m. Tuesday at A La Cart Catering in Canfield. • Altrusa Club of Youngstown will gather at 6 p.m. Thursday at Wittenauer’s in Poland. Final preparations for the Book Festival from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. April 16 at Fellows Riverside Gardens will be discussed. The club’s mission is to promote literacy in the community. • Austintown Growth Foundation will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the meeting room at Fernando’s Wedgewood Pizza. The group will discuss plans for its April 21 quarter auction. The purpose of the group is to enhance the public concept of Austintown, improve residential and business communities and promote local schools. • College Club of Sharon will meet for hospitality at 10 a.m. and for a program at 10:30 Saturday in the fellowship hall of First Presbyterian Church, 600 E. State St., Sharon, Pa. • Youngstown Section of the National Council of Negro Women Inc. will meet April 16 at McGuffey Centre, 1649 Jacobs Road, Youngstown. The executive board meets at noon, and the general meeting follows at 1 p.m. Note that the council moved this meeting from a previously announced date of Saturday. Delphine Baldwin-Casey and Mary Halfacre will be 2016 honorees. LIBRARY FRIENDS
• Friends of the Boardman Library will meet Monday in the community room at the library, 7680 Glenwood Ave. Refreshments will be served at 9:30 a.m. A program on bees will be presented by George Stacey at 10. • NAMI Mahoning Valley will offer support groups for those who deal with mental illness. Family support groups, providing information for family members and friends of individuals with mental illness, will be offered the first Thursday of each month in Trumbull County at 11 a.m. at the Girard Library, 105 E. Prospect St., and on the second Tuesday of each month in Mahoning County at 7 p.m. at the D & E Counseling Center, 142 Javit Court, Austintown. The Connection support group aims to connect individuals who live with mental illness in a structured discussion format. It is limited to adults living with a mental health diagnosis in order to promote self-disclosure in a safe, confidential environment. It is free and open to anyone with a mental health diagnosis. They meet for a day session at 1:30 p.m. each Thursday at the community center, 1344 Fifth Ave., Youngstown, and in the evenings at 6 p.m. on the second and fourth Thursday of each month at the D & E Center.
