With a bit of a nip in the air and a little bit of sunshine coming their way, C.H. Campbell Elementary School students celebrated the school’s annual Beach Day on March 18. A tropical display in the lobby of the school pointed the students ‘To the Beach’ in the cafeteria.
In the cafeteria, which was decorated with beach balls, beach buckets and paper flowers hanging from the ceiling, tables were cleared away and students enjoyed a picnic-style lunch on their own beach towels and blankets.
The students were able to dress in brightly-colored beachwear for the day. Many students got into the spirit of the day by wearing shorts, sun hats, sunglasses, Hawaiian shirts, Hawaiian leis, straw hats, baseball hats, swim trunks, visors, hula skirts and flowers in their hair.
In addition to decorating the cafeteria, the PTO provided popsicles for the children as a special treat to enjoy after they had eaten lunch.
Following lunch, the students soaked up as much sunshine as the northeast Ohio sun was willing provide on the school’s playground.
