CLEVELAND

A federal grand jury has returned an 18-count indictment containing firearms charges against a Hubbard resident and a Youngstown resident.

Tamyra Gudzinas, 74, of Hubbard, is charged with falsely telling federally licensed firearms dealers in Warren and Youngstown in writing that she was buying pistols in 2015 for herself, when she actually was buying them for somebody else.

Elie J. Faraj, 31, of Youngstown, is charged with illegally possessing five pistols and a rifle during fall 2015 after having been convicted of cocaine possession in Youngstown in 2012.

The case was investigated by the FBI and its Violent Crimes Task Force and the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives. It is being prosecuted by Jason M. Katz, a Youngstown-based assistant U.S. attorney.
