Details: Blooms vary depending on weather, but hepatica, coltsfoot and spring beauty likely will be in bloom. Dress appropriately for spring weather and trail conditions.

BIRDS BEFORE WORK

When: Monday, 7 to 8:30 a.m.

What: Join Naturalist Adam Zorn on Nickel Plate Trail in Louisville, Ohio, for morning bird walk.

Where: Nickel Plate Trailhead, Pinevale Avenue, Louisville.

Cost: Free

Details: Great for beginners and experienced birders. Level, paved walking surface. Bring binoculars. Meet at trailhead. Event will be canceled in inclement weather. RSVP requested.

Spring into Gardening Seminar

When: April 16, 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

What: Join Penn State Master Gardeners of Mercer County for annual seminar.

Where: Penn State Extension-Mercer County Office, 463 N. Perry Highway, 1.5 miles north of Mercer.

Details: Open to public. Presentations will include phenology, Nature’s Alarm Clock and Garden Journaling, Keyhole Gardening, Feed the Birds, Garden Accents.

Cost: $14 per person.

Pruning Your Landscape
