Suspect in Sunday homicide arrested on probation violation

YOUNGSTOWN — The suspect in a homicide early Sunday morning has been arrested on a probation violation.

Jermaine Bunn, 39, is in the Mahoning County jail after being treated for a gunshot wound to the face police said he sustained about 12:45 a.m. Sunday in an exchange of gunfire that killed Michael Pete, 30, outside a home in the first block of East Evergreen Avenue.

Jail records show Bunn was booked into the jail on the violation on a charge of being a felon in possession of a firearm.

Detectives said this morning that are still reviewing the case and have not yet filed charges against Bunn for the death of Pete.
