AUCTIONS

St. Joseph Church, 4545 New Road, Austintown, will sponsor its second annual quarter auction Friday. Doors will open at 6 p.m. and the auction will begin at 7 for the 21 and over event. There will be 50-50 and lottery tree raffles. Tickets are $10 each for admission and one bidding paddle and can be purchased in advance or at the door. BOOK SALES

Cortland United Methodist Women will have a used book and bake sale from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday and from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday in the fellowship hall of the church, 155 N. High St. Most items will be $2 per bag Saturday. Items for sale will include gently used books, specialty magazines, puzzles, games, videos, DVDs and more. Proceeds will support mission projects. Donations for the sale will be accepted from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. weekdays before Wednesday or by special arrangements by calling the church at 330-637-2571.

Friends of the Community Library of Shenango Valley will host its used book sale at the library, 11 N. Sharpsville Ave., Sharon, Pa. The event will begin at 9 a.m. April 13 and continue during regular library hours through April 16. Free admission. For information call the library at 724-981-4360.

Friends of the Warren Library will offer a book sale for members from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and for the public from 12:30 to 3 p.m. April 16 in the Thomas Room of the library, 444 Mahoning Ave.

Jackson-Milton High School National Honor Society will host a Spring Extravaganza from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday at the high school, 13910 Mahoning Ave., North Jackson. SALES

Christ Community Church, 531 Neoka Drive, Campbell, (across from Four Season Flea Market) is hosting a rummage sale from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. May 6 and from 9 a.m. to noon May 7. Fill a bag for $2 on May 7. There will be something for everyone.

Girard Junior Women will host its annual trunk sale, rain or shine, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. May 21 at Girard Municipal Courthouse, 100 N. Market St. To reserve a spot for $15 each, call Laura at 330-545-5962. All proceeds are donated to the Girard community.

Helping Hands Closet at Western Reserve United Methodist Church, 4580 Canfield Road, Canfield, has new and gently used clothes for the entire family. April specials include buy two adult items and get the third free (the lowest cost item). There also is plenty of children’s clothing. Hours are 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. each Tuesday. Special hours of operation will be from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday.

Poland Lions will have a Treasures of the Trunk Sale from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. June 11 in the stadium parking lot at Poland Seminary High School. Vendors are being accepted for 100 available spaces; registration will be $10 for one parking space if postmarked by May 1 or $15 per space after this date. Vendors should take their own table. It is asked that there be no hot food nor soft drink vendors or raffle drawings. There will be no refunds for registration, and the event will take place rain or shine. Struthers Parkside Church, 110 Poland Ave., will host a rummage sale from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. April 16. There will be toys, books, household items, holiday decor and more. Specialty items will include candy and scarves. Lunch and baked goods will be sold. There will be a basket raffle, and drawings will take place at the end of the day. Winners do not need to be present. Proceeds will be used for church repairs and missions.

Youngstown Saxon Club, Ladies Branch 22, is sponsoring a trash and treasure sale from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at the Saxon Club Ballroom, 710 S. Meridian Road, Youngstown. Lunch will be served after 11 a.m. Sauerkraut, hot dogs, German sausage sandwiches and chips will be available for sit-down or takeout. Chicken dumpling soup also will be available.
