Southside Academy offers spring classes

YOUNGSTOWN

Southside Fine Arts Academy will begin its spring class sessions beginning next week and continuing through May 28.

This semester the academy will meet from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. Mondays and from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturdays at St. Angela Merici Parish, 400 Lincoln Park Drive, and from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesdays at Fairview Arts and Outreach Center, 4220 Youngstown-Poland Road.

The academy is open to all children from kindergarten through 12th grades; participation is free.

Classes are offered in singing, dance, drama, visual arts, creative writing/poetry, boomwhackers, recorders and drum circle.

Private lessons on instruments are available.

All classes are taught by qualified instructors from the community and Youngstown State University.
