Presentation to focus on HIV in community


YOUNGSTOWN

A presentation, “HIV in the Community: Progress and Challenges,” co-sponsored by Youngstown Area PFLAG and Unitarian Universalist Church of Youngstown, will take place at 6:30 p.m. April 12 in the parish house at St. John’s Episcopal Church, 323 Wick Ave.

The presentation will include discussion of the challenges faced by those with HIV/AIDS and the effects of current law on this population reflected in several local cases.

Linda Titus, director of Casa Madre, and Dan Wakefield, director of special projects of the Ursuline Sisters HIV/AIDS ministry, will speak about the programs and services they offer for children and families.

Youngstown Area PFLAG will have its monthly support group meeting following the presentation.

Light refreshments will be served.
