Maplewood takes win in Trumbull prep bowl

A team from Maplewood Middle School won the Trumbull County Educational Service Center’s annual Junior High School Prep Bowl competition.
The academic competition engaged students in various grade levels in a contest to answer questions from all areas of study.
Maplewood team members are Patrick Begley, Julie Cleer, Mabel Crouch, Ryan Dancison, Ruby Harrison, Hunter Omerzo, Jenna Walden and Brooke Smith. Kristen Sturm was the coach.
Liberty’s W.S. Guy Middle School was the runner-up for the competition. Members of the team are John Chandler, Dean Esmail, Matthew Fabian, Connor Landers, Jacob Snowden, Trevor Strohmeyer and Alyssa Wilson. Vicky Hargreaves was the coach.
The Trumbull County Educational Service Center provides educational leadership and instruction in the areas of school improvement, special education and STEM education.
The center employs more than 200 teachers, therapists, psychologists, educational assistants and other specialists who work directly with approximately 3,500 students in 20 school districts.
