Canfield trustees take on catch-basin project

CANFIELD — Township trustees are getting serious about fixing fracturing catch basins.

Brian Governor, trustee chairman, said Canfield Township catch basins, or drains for road surface water, are “something neglected” and something the township needs to take care of.

“We can’t just keep kicking the can down the road,” he said.

With the $25,000 budgeted for the project, Governor said he wants to see how much can be done with the catch basins.

Township Administrator Keith Rogers said the board of trustees is looking into getting quotes for the project, based on a list he put together of eight catch basins in the worst condition for replacement, rather than repair.
