Baby-sitting class
BOARDMAN
Boardman Park, 375 Boardman-Poland Road, is sponsoring a baby-sitting class from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. April 16 at the Georgeanna Parker Activity Center. Students ages 11 to 15 will learn baby-sitting basic skills, first aid, rescue breathing and more.
The cost is $40 for township residents and $45 for nonresidents. Students need to provide their own lunch.

Gardening advice
BOARDMAN
Boardman Park is offering a new gardening service for township residents.
Park staff will be available by phone from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Monday through Friday, and in the office from 9 to 11 a.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays, to diagnose plant problems, identify plants and offer advice on caring for trees, shrubs, perennials, ground covers and landscaping.
The service is free.

Composting class
SEBRING
Nearly 25 percent of the waste stream is composed of organic material that can be recycled easily in the composting process, the Mahoning County Recycling Division says. The division is conducting composting classes April 24 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 12th Street and Pine Lake Road. Sessions will be at 1 and 3 p.m.
The cost for each seminar is $10 for county residents and $40 for nonresidents. Seminars will include a training session with video instruction and open discussion.
Registrants will receive a backyard compost bin, instructional booklet and trouble-shooting guide. Call the recycling division at 330-740-2060 to register. Preregistration is required.
Buhl Park cleanup
HERMITAGE, PA.
Buhl Farm Park, 715 Hazen Road, will host cleanup days from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday and April 16.
Registration will begin at 8:30 a.m. outside the park casino. Participants will be sent to specific sites within the park for cleanup and are asked to bring gloves and rakes if available. Garbage bags will be provided. Free lunch will be offered to all who register and refreshments will be served throughout the day. Community service hours will be available upon request. Street sweeping
LOWELLVILLE
Street sweeping in Lowellville will begin the week of April 11. Residents are urged to sweep gravel and debris on sidewalks to the street. Notices will be placed on vehicles the day before so streets can be cleaned efficiently.
