Officials mark new Chick-fil-A’s grand re-opening

BOARDMAN
The jam-packed parking lot and wrap-around lines at Chick-fil-A should be no more, as the business has opened a larger, upgraded facility across the street from its popular former site on Boardman-Poland Road.
Business representatives and local-government officials gathered at the new Tiffany Square location Thursday for a ribbon-cutting event and to take some ceremonial first bites of the restaurant’s signature sandwiches.
“We’re happy to be open now, and we hope to do great business here,” said owner/operator Gail McCullough.
Officials from Boardman Township and Poland village Mayor Timothy Sicafuse also attended the ribbon-cutting ceremony and expressed their support for the project.
“It’s going to alleviate all the traffic congestion there. People love Chick-fil-A,” said Boardman Township Trustee Brad Calhoun.
He also noted other recent upgrades to the Tiffany Square plaza, saying, “This whole plaza has been redone, so even though some of the businesses are just relocating, I think what it does is ... encourage other [businesses] to reinvest.”
The new 5,000-square-foot restaurant features a double drive-thru, larger kitchen and outdoor seating, among other upgrades. The restaurant added about 15 employees to its staff of roughly 150 people, McCullough said.
Chick-fil-A is open from 6:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Saturday. It is closed Sundays.
The Tiffany Square restaurant is collecting books to donate to Akron Children’s Hospital of Mahoning Valley.
