Troop 25 recognizes Scouts at 2016 Spring Court of Honor

Boy Scout Troop 25, chartered to Canfield United Methodist Church, recently recognized Scouts and adult volunteers at its Spring Court of Honor at the church.
The Spring Court of Honor celebrates Scouts who have earned rank advancements, merit badges and other awards in scouting. Troop Committee Chairman Mr. John Kightlinger served as the Master of Ceremonies. The Court of Honor was opened by the troop’s color guard.
Scouts recognized at the ceremony included Chris Altiere with the First Class Award, the Bob Roberts Memorial Back Patch 20 Mile Canoeing, 50 Mile Back Packing, Simmer Camp and Survival Camp points; Joshua Farley with the Second Class Award; John Heino with the First Class Award, the Bob Roberts Memorial Back Patch 20 Mile Canoeing, 50 Mile Back Packing, Simmer Camp and Survival Camp points; Hunter Hykes with the Citizenship in the Community, Family Life and Physical Fitness Merit Badges and the Bob Roberts Memorial Back Patch Eagle Scout Point; Evan McNally with the First Class Award, the Bob Roberts Memorial Back Patch 20 Mile Canoeing, 50 Mile Back Packing, Simmer Camp and Survival Camp points, and Matt Mosier with the Life Scout Award and Communications Merit Badge.
Matt Mosier, the Order of the Arrow Troop Representative gave an update on the Wapashuwi lodge – Order of the Arrow upcoming activities. He also announced that two members of the troop, Doug Kupec and Mike Kupec had received the National Order of the Arrow Centurion Award in 2015. They were two of eight individuals in Wapashuwi Lodge recognized with this once in a century award.
One highlight of the evening was the awarding of the Troop 25 2015 Herman West Most Active Scout Award to Jacob Kuszaj.
Troop 25’s upcoming calendar includes participation in the Mill Creek MetroParks Earth Day Cleanup and a camping weekend for BTM Clays in April, the Canfield Memorial Day Parade in May, Gettysburg National Historic Battlefield in June, the Canfield Fourth of July Parade and Summer Camp in July (Seven Ranges Scout Reservation in Kensington) and trips in August and September to be determined.
