Youngstown leaf pickup program begins Oct. 26

YOUNGSTOWN — The city will pick up bags of leaves on the same day as a customer’s regular trash day starting Oct. 26.

The leaf-pickup program ends Dec. 4.

All brown compostable leaf bags will be picked up without customers having to sign up for the program.

Green Youngstown, the city’s recycling and litter cleanup division, will also give away 7,000 free leaf bags at its office on the third floor of the city hall annex, 9 W. Front St., weekdays from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. starting Monday.

Residents can also use compostable paper bags purchased at local retailers.
