State Route 11 at Interstate 80 in Austintown to close for a time tonight to repair guardrail

AUSTINTOWN — State Route 11 at Interstate 80 westbound will be closed for six hours tonight for guardrail repair work.

That begins at 8 p.m. today and will reopen at 2 a.m. Thursday. The detour for motorists is Interstate 680 southbound to Meridian Road to I-680.

That same area was where a tractor-trailer jack-knifed and hit a bridge abutment Tuesday night. That sent the tractor-trailer’s engine about 300 yards down a hill, shattering its cover. The driver had minor injuries.

The highway was shut down for a few hours as Ohio Department of Transportation officials cleaned up the wreck.
