UPDATE | Standoff ends in Campbell, man taken into custody


CAMPBELL — Police have taken a suspect into custody after he barricaded himself in a home at 436 Sanderson Ave. Officers first responded to the area shortly after 1 p.m. today after neighbors complained of a man throwing trash at cars.

Police said the man, who is in his late 20s and who may have some mental issues, made threats against the officers.

Officers said they forced entry into the home after obtaining a warrant and warning the suspect that they would bring in a police dog. Police removed the suspect from the home after using pepper spray shortly before 2 p.m.. The man does not appear to have had any weapons and no one was injured, police said.
