ODNR issued 10 drilling permits last week

COLUMBUS — The Ohio Department of Natural Resources Division of Oil and Gas Resources issued 10 horizontal well drilling permits in the Utica/Point Pleasant Shale Play during the week of Sept. 20 to Sept. 26.

There were six permits issued in Belmont County; two permits issued in Jefferson County; one permit issued in Guernsey County; and one issued in Harrison County.

The Utica Play has a total of 21 rigs. A total of 2,017 permits have been issued; 1,598 wells have been drilled; and 1,014 wells are in production.

Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection issued no permits in Lawrence and Mercer counties during the same week.
