Canfield’s top-seeded doubles team of Hannah Cianciola and Ashley Kaleel easily won the first two matches at Stadium Park. After a first-round bye, the Cardinal duo defeated Canton McKinley’s Julie Freeman and Emily Wells 6-0, 6-0, then beat Green’s Emily Capeta and Rachel Bindreiter 6-1, 6-1 in the third round. Quarterfinals are Wednesday, with finals on Saturday. Cianciola and Kaleel have advanced to the state tournament each of the previous two seasons. In singles action, Canfield’s Emily Hofsess won both her matches to advance to the quarterfinals. She defeated Barberton’s Maria Burns 6-0, 6-0, then beat Kristina Koinoglou 6-0, 6-1.
VOLLEYBALL
Ursuline 25-25-25, Valley Christian 14-10-6
Destiny Goodnight had 11 points, eight kills and two blocks for Ursuline. Julianna Kratzer had six points and 15 digs, and Jenna O’Hara had five points and 10 digs. Valley Christian’s leaders were Daisjha Parks with four blocks, five points, and seven kills, and Marija Parks with 15 digs.
Boardman 26-25-25, Cardinal Mooney 24-19-17
Krista Johnson had 15 kills, 11 digs and three aces; Katie Platt had 28 assists, six digs and three aces; and Courtney Platt added 13 digs and three aces for Boardman (11-3). For Mooney (9-2), Maddie Abrigg had 13 kills and 10 digs, Autumn DeSantis had eight kills and six blocks, and Marcella Adams made 20 assists. JV: Boardman, 2-0.

Heidi Hauck scored 18 points and Olivia Hedge 16 for the Tigers (16-0). Izzy Kline made eight kills and two blocks while Gabby Kline, Kayla Barreca and Lindsay Holub each had seven kills. JV: Newton Falls, 2-0.
Poland 25-25-25, Campbell 2-20-16
Layne Black had 10 digs and nine aces, Jen Eich had 19 assists and five aces, and Corday Sundstrom had two blocks and eight kills for Poland. For Campbell, Kaliope Zembillas had three kills and two aces, Aaliayah Hakeem had eight blocks, and Selena Lopez had two aces.

Emma Delinger had 17 digs, 11 points and 10 kills while Taylor Ziegler had 18 kills and seven blocks. Gabby Miller had 19 points and nine digs while Katie Julian had 33 assists and two aces for Niles (3-12). JV: Niles 2-1.

Bailey Drapola had 17 kills and eight digs for Warriors (7-9), while Kenzie Drapola had 10 kills, eight digs and four aces. Tori Sheehan had eight points and six blocks. For JFK, Alexa Fordeley had three kills and three points, Mackayla Kroll had three aces and two blocks and Adrianna Placanica made eight digs.

Ashley Evans scored 25 points with two aces to lead the Warriors (8-6). Iesha Niciu made 19 kills and nine blocks while Savannah Flick made 49 digs. For the Vikings (11-4), Haley Davies and Haylie Kiser each scored 12 point, with Davies recording five aces. Kiser made 12 digs, Miranda Dodrill made 16 kills and five blocks, and Amanda Reppart made five blocks. JV: LaBrae, 25-18, 25-19.

Kasey Kohler made 11 kills and six blocks while Brianna Yemma made 29 digs to lead the Tigers (7-8). Nikki Bovo scored nine points and Yemma eight while Courtney Cyrus made nine kills. Kimnii Wiggers made 17 kills and 16 digs while Karlee Pezxano made 33 assists, five digs and six aces for the Blue Devils (9-5). For the Lions (8-7), Bonnnie Flynn made 19 kills, 22 digs and four blocks while Jacquelyn Chapman scored nine points with three aces and made four blocks and seven digs. JV: Lisbon 2-0.

For the Quakers Maria Shivers made 12 kills and four blocks, and scored four aces for the Quakers (11-4). Kacey Costal added eight kills and four blocks. Elizabeth Aukerman had 15 assists. For the Bulldogs (4-11), Brysten Trosky made seven kills and two blocks while Jessica Leake contributed five kills and four points. JV: Salem, 2-0.

Elizabeth Bowman scored 11 points with four aces and Alexis Miller made nine kills and five blocks to lead the Raiders (8-5, 3-0 ITCL). Lanie Grope made eight kills while Sydney Miller and Jenny Stubbs each made 10 digs. For the Tigers, Kiki Perry made 13 kills.

For Liberty, Maleah Schiavone had 11 kills, 10 digs, and eight blocks. Amy Mikulich had six kills and eight digs, Lana Adi had 27 assists and three aces, and Marcy Dykes had four kills, two blocks, and two aces. For Struthers, Caitlin Kano had five kills and 23 digs, Amanda Zupko had three kills and two aces, and Karli Shives had two kills and six digs.

Dee Dixon had 10 kills, seven blocks and one ace for Columbiana (5-9, 3-0). Alexis Cross had nine kills and eleven digs, Hannah Hum had eight points and 23 digs, and Emily Gosselin had 16 assists and 12 digs. Malena Whitfield scored four goals, and Sarah Malvasi and Malena Whitfield scored five goals each. Kim Reinhart and Jackie Kenreich each scored one goal. Girard’s goalkeeper Alexia Page-Boyd had five saves. Francesca Rudie scored for Struthers.

Casey Lindstrom scored three goals for the Raiders, and Megan Smith had two. Kameron Hobbes had a goal and an assist, and Lilliam Kimpel contributed two. For Crestview, Jillian Beard scored two goals and Kassie Seabolt scored the other.

Cierra Latronica and Devon Asher both scored for Springfield, with assists from Laurel Blakeman. Lauren Beech scored all four goals for United.

Hannah Harnicher scored Newton’s first goal from a penalty kick, and the second goal came from Sydney Drake off of an assist from Sarah Reinhart. Caitlin Conway had eight saves for Newton Falls. Marissa Roberts scored LaBrae’s only goal.
BOYS SOCCER
Maplewood 3, Lordstown 1
Paul Kellar, Spencer Logan, and Frank Hiland each scored once for Maplewood. For Lordstown, Ethan Radtka scored one. Maplewood’s Thomas Rink had one assist, and Austin Miner had nine saves. Collin Himes had 14 saves for Lordstown.
