Man arraigned

WARREN

Jerame R. Provitt, 23, of Jackson Street Southwest, was arraigned Monday in Warren Municipal Court on a felony carrying-a-concealed-weapon charge about a week after he was shot on First Street Southwest. A not-guilty plea was entered, and he was released after posting $3,500 bond.

Police made a traffic stop on a car in which Provitt was a passenger at 9:50 p.m. Sunday at Parkman Road and Summit Street Northwest. Provitt told police he had a weapon and a carrying-concealed-weapons license. However, police determined that the license was suspended and that Provitt was wanted on a warrant relating to domestic violence.

Police took the firearm from Provitt, who was carrying it in the waistband of his pants. The other occupants of the vehicle were released.

Provitt was treated at ValleyCare Trumbull Memorial Hospital on Sept. 19 after a person took him there from outside of a house on First Street, police said.

HOWLAND

A vacant house at 7705 Macawber Road off of state Route 46 in the Foxcroft neighborhood sustained $120,000 in damage in a 12:11 a.m. Monday fire that destroyed two-thirds of the house.

The owners had just finished remodeling the house and were preparing to put it up for sale, said Howland Township Fire Chief James Pantalone.

The home is most likely a total loss, Pantalone said.
