Warren man shot last week arrested Sunday on weapons charge
WARREN — Jerame R. Provitt, 23, of Jackson Street Southwest, is in the Trumbull County jail and expected to be arraigned today on felony charge of carrying a concealed weapon about a week after he was shot on First Street Southwest.
Police made a traffic stop on a car in which Provitt was a passenger at 9:50 p.m. Sunday at Parkman Road and Summit Street Northwest.
Provitt told police he had a weapon and a carrying-concealed-weapons license. However, police determined that the license was suspended and that Provitt was wanted on a warrant relating to domestic violence.
Police took the firearm from Provitt, who was carrying it in the waistband of his pants. The other occupants of the vehicle were released.
Provitt was treated at ValleyCare Trumbull Memorial Hospital Sept. 19 after a person took him there from outside of a house on First Street address near a large amount of blood, police said.
