Teens lead police to missing guns

WARREN — Teenagers from Warren were taken into custody and then released to their guardians Friday afternoon after they led police officers to guns they purportedly stole from a house on Raymond Street Northwest.

The owner of the guns is the owner of the home, age 72. But his grandson, 14, was home during the robbery and called police at 2:40 p.m. to report it and provide a clothing description of the suspects.

Warren police located the two juveniles — age 13 and 15 — on Bingham Avenue Northwest a short time later.

One of the boys confessed to putting the guns in the woods and led police to find them. The guns were returned to the owner.

Police planned to speak with the juvenile prosecutor today about filing charges in Trumbull County Juvenile Court.
