Domestic-violence workshop is Oct. 9

Delphine Baldwin-Casey will present a free workshop, “Helping Victims of Domestic Violence Cope with Judgments Made by Others,” from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Oct. 9 at First Presbyterian Church, 201 Wick Ave.

The event will provide continuing education credits by Help Hotline Inc.

Presenters will include Baldwin-Casey, who is retired from the Youngstown Police Department, a Mahoning County reserve deputy, an Ohio police instructor and member of the Ohio domestic violence task force; Malinda Gavin, program director of Sojourner House, and also a member of the Ohio Domestic Violence Network; and Darlene Hills-Clinkscale, a faith-based task force member of Pastors Against Domestic Violence/Ohio Domestic Violence Network. Special guest will be Frederick Taylor, author of the book “Domestic Silence.”
