Fitch HOF inductions set for Oct. 3 banquet

AUSTINTOWN

The Austintown Fitch Hall of Fame will induct its 2015 class on Saturday at Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish Center on Norquest Boulevard.

The doors open at 5 p.m. Dinner is at 6 p.m., followed by the induction ceremony at 7:30.

The following will be inducted: Jack Betts, contributor; Amy Evans Deifenderfer, 2000, track/cross country; Greg Faunda, 1997, wrestling ; Michele McKee Mercer, 1988, softball; Robert Naples, 1974, basketball Janet Polish, 1987, tennis and coach; Ashlie Case Sletvold, 1998, volleyball/track; Steve Sletvold, 1997, wrestling; Tricia Beaudis Smart, 1996, volleyball/softball; and Chaka Wallace, 1990, track.

Three teams will be inducted as well: the 1974-1975 and 1975-1976 Fitch wrestling teams and the 1958 Fitch boys basketball team.

Proceeds from the event, program advertising and the banquet itself, benefit scholarships and Fitch athletics.
